Helena Korjonen

Research Specialist

Helena Korjonen studied International Studies with emphasis on European studies, the environment and geography (BSc Hons), she holds an MA in Library, Archives and Information Studies (University College London – UCL) and during her cross-disciplinary PhD studies (also UCL) examined the dissemination of information in clinical trials making recommendations to improve transparency.

She has experience working on European public health matters in civil service, medical information in the pharmaceutical industry and in undertaking research in the clinical research and public health NGO sector.  She has a particular interest in digitalisation and knowledge translation, e.g. how we best disseminate and visualise information utilising a variety of tools and the uptake of knowledge in practice.

In the transdisciplinary Sustainable Food Practices project, under the direction of Dr. Rachel Reckinger, we are analysing the transition processes towards a more sustainable food system, mapping the foodscape of Luxembourg by using infographics and other visual tools to demonstrate interrelationships, pressure points, and opportunities.  Drawing on food law, food literacy and transparency, we are also analysing and mapping food quality labelling schemes.
