Elisabeth Boesen

Research Scientist 

 

Elisabeth Boesen studied cultural anthropology and history at the Free University Berlin and at the University of Bayreuth where she completed her doctoral thesis in 1998. She continued her ethnographic research on West African nomadic people at the University of Bayreuth, the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, and the Center for Modern Oriental Studies Berlin. In 2007, she joined the Institute for History at the University of Luxembourg. Her fields of research are migration, social change in rural societies, cultural identity, and memory.
