Aniruddha Kar

PhD Student 

 

Aniruddha Kar studied drawing and painting at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 2010, he completed his Master of Fine Arts and started to exhibit his works nationally and internationally. He continued his studies at Heidelberg University and obtained a second master’s degree in South Asian Studies majoring in art history and anthropology, he wrote his M.A. thesis on the poetics and politics of representing the colonial photographs in contemporary time. Continuing the academic path, he writes a doctoral dissertation in history at the University of Luxembourg in co-supervision with the Heidelberg University. The dissertation project aims to study the musealization and archivization of the memories of India’s Partition (1947).
