Cathy Collard

R&D Specialist

Cathy Collard joined the Institute of History in October 2024 as a research and development specialist.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in European Cultures with a specialisation in History at the University of Luxembourg, she decided to pursue a Master’s in European Contemporary History at the same institution. During her studies, Cathy primarily focussed on women’s history and legal history. This is evidenced by her Bachelor’s thesis analysing Luxembourg’s social legislation (children and women’s work regulations) in the 19th century and by her Master’s thesis treating the feminist activism of the jurist Jeanne Rouff during the 1960s- and 1970s-women’s movement. She also contributed to the MuGi.lu project as a student assistant.

She is currently working on the study about supraconfessional cemeteries funded by the Ministry of Home Affairs, exploring the social, public health, and environmental considerations necessary for the establishment of cemeteries that accommodate multiple religious and faith-based communities.
